Numerology is the study of the numerical value of the letters in words, names, and ideas. Each number has a characteristic influence in our daily life.
Pythagoras and other philosophers believed that because mathematical concepts were easier to regulate and classify than the physical ones, they had greater actuality. St. Augustine of Hippo (A.D. 354–430) wrote
Numbers are the Universal language offered by the deity to humans as confirmation of the truth.
Similar to Pythagoras, he too believed that everything had numerical relationships. Hence, it was up to the mind to seek and investigate the secrets of these relationships or have them revealed by divine grace.
Indian Numerology is different from Western numerology. In this, each number has an associated planetary deity.

4 - Rahu: North Node(Imaginary) or Sun (Western)
5 - Budha: Mercury
6 - Shukra: Venus

Numerology works on various parameters, for example, name, birth date, etc. Numerologists calculate various types of number to identify characteristics traits of an individual.
Life Path Number - who you are, your life purpose, the path you will walk in this life.
Soul Number - who your soul desires you to be so it can feel content and complete.
Personality Number - how others perceive you.
Destiny Number - who you are destined to become as it already resides within you.
Birth Day Number - additional personality traits, talents and abilities that assist you on your life path.

Numerology based on birth date is the most famous in the world. In this, we calculate our associated life path number and link them with our qualities.
You can calculate your associated number by adding each digit of your birthday. For example, if you were born on 12th March 1981, the compounded number is 12031981. Now, add each digit: 1+2+3+1+9+8+1= 25
Further, add the individual digits of the 2-digit number: 2+5 = 7
Therefore, 7 is the life path number.
1 - Leadership
2 - Caring
3 - Creativity
4 - Follower
5 - Rebellion
6 - Responsibility
7 - Intuitive
8 - Ruler
9 - Patience
Numerology is used for identifying the nature and characteristics of an individual. It projects the merits and demerits that an individual possesses in terms of capabilities and resources. In some cases, it is combined with astrology (Astronumerology) to extract additional details pertaining to a specific situation in an individual's life.
